Ottawa Accommodation: What's New?

From boutique to conference centre, Ottawa offers a variety of new accommodations

Ottawa has some new additions to its accommodation scene that offer a variety of experiences for visitors to the nation's capital.

Ottawa welcomes a new boutique property in January 2007. Located just five blocks south of Parliament Hill &endash; at the corner of Metcalfe and Laurier W., the Hotel Indigo Ottawa is a 106-room hotel designed to appeal to style-savvy, lifestyle-focussed guests who desire an alternative to traditional hotels (without sacrificing business amenities). The property features two meeting rooms, a full fitness centre with indoor pool and a street-level restaurant featuring a menu full of delectable, yet healthy, alternatives. Please visit www.hotelindigoottawa.com for more information.

Another new addition to the accommodation scene is a charming small property conveniently located amid the bustle of the ByWard Market neighbourhood. The ByWard Blue Inn opened in the summer of 2006 on a quiet residential street literally steps away from most major attractions, including the National Gallery of Canada, Royal Canadian Mint, Parliament Hill and more. The Inn is an exceptional value with rates that start at $79 per night (includes a complimentary breakfast). Please visit www.bywardblueinn.com for more information.

The Hampton Inn Ottawa & Conference Centre is a new addition to the meetings landscape in Ottawa. Their 24,000 sq. ft. of meeting space in a luxurious ballroom, 3 halls and 16 meeting rooms make meetings convenient and comfortable. The adjacent 179-room hotel offers high-speed wireless access in all rooms as well as in the lobby and conference centre. A 24-hour coffee shop can also be found in the lobby. Please visit www.hamptoninnottawa.com for further information.

Ottawa Tourism provides industry leadership and destination marketing to service the travel media and attract visitors, tours and conventions to Ottawa and Canada's Capital Region. Visit Ottawa Tourism at www.ottawatourism.ca
