On the Road to Destination Germany

The German National Tourist Office (GNTO) and some of its leading suppliers are off to the upcoming Destination Germany Road Show. Seminars for travel agents will be held from October 17 to October 20 in Alexandria, Dallas and Houston.

The GNTO will present the new figures from the German tourism market; information on art and culture; river cruising; christmas markets; as well as upcoming events and cultural highlights. The participants will not only entice the travel agents with new presentations but also with a mini trade show.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet the nine member city alliance "Magic Cities" with representatives from Duesseldorf, Hannover, Cologne, Munich and Berlin and representatives from the "Historic Highlights" group. The cities of Bremerhaven, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the states of Bavaria and Thuringia, Lufthansa German Airlines, the Steigenberger Hotel Group, Rail Europe, DER Rail & EuroGroups, Amadeus Waterways, the Avis Rent a Car Group and the tour operators Globus and Nordique Tours will also be represented. In each city, the partners of the GNTO will be raffling off prizes, such as roundtrip tickets with Lufthansa, German Rail passes and various hotel accommodations.

The Destination Germany Road Show will feature a dinner or "Brotzeit" presentation starting at 5:30pm in Alexandria on October 17th at the Holiday Inn Hotels & Suites. In Dallas there will be a 7:30am breakfast presentation on October 19th at The Westin Park Central and the last breakfast event will be in Houston on October 20th at 7:30am at the St. Regis Hotel.

The roundtables and trade shows are open to all travel agents free of charge.
