FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New Yearbooks, Monthly Travel Trade Bulletins and "Keeper" Editions Boost Africa Travel Magazine's Global Reach Since 1995, Africa Travel Magazine has promoted travel, trade, tourism and transport to Africa via Spring and Fall Yearbook editions and other timely issues. Starting May, 2007 the magazine will expand its reach and frequency, thanks to partnerships with (PATA) Pacific Asia Travel Association, (AFRAA), African Airlines Association (UNWTO) UN World Tourism Organization and others. Circulation will now reach beyond North America, to Europe and Asia Pacific. On the agenda are 'keeper' editions, such as Great Cities of Africa and Air Highways to Africa - regionally focused editions produced in partnership with African municipal, state and federal governments, plus private sector sponsors. Monthly Travel Trade and Airline Bulletins anchor the new schedule, and print advertisers receive a one year bonus on the official ATA website, a search leader. This Spring's Yearbook features the ATA 32nd World Congress in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, incorporating the Annual Convocation of African Tourism Ministers, an African Airlines Forum and the 1st African Travel Trade Expo, May 6 to 11. The issue previews coming events in Durban, South Africa (Indaba 2007), Maputo, Mozambique (1st Africa Conference) and Kampala, Uganda (4th African Peace Through Tourism Conference). Other Inserts include Great Cities of Africa and ATA's Cultural Ecotourism Yearbook, a review of events in Uganda, Angola and Nigeria. Great Cities of Africa, Capitals of Culture and Gateways to Sustainable Tourism Meetings with African mayors at the UN World Urban Forum laid the groundwork for this exciting bimonthly series and all 33 African cities that hosted ATA events since 1975 will be represented, Individual city editions will be updated annually and each will be a keeper. First in the series is Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, host city for the ATA 32nd World Congress in May 2007. The edition showcases Ethiopia's Millennium activities, unique attractions and tours to historic destinations. Other city editions include Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from its early history to today's position as a major seaport, with exotic Zanzibar across the bay. New upscale hotels are making this area one of Africa's hot spots for business, conventions and tourism. The Abuja and Calabar, Nigeria editions include remarkable developments in Cross River State, plus cultural highlights of Abuja's Carnival. Kampala, Uganda, city of seven hills, hosts the 4th Africa Peace Through Tourism Conference and the First Africa Media Exchange,. In the "Tale of Two Cities" category are Nairobi and Mombassa, Kenya; Douala and Yaounde, Cameroon; Accra and Kumasi, Ghana; Nairobi and Mombassa, Kenya; Casablanca and Marrakech, Morocco, Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa. Also in progress are profiles on Cairo, Egypt; Dakar, Senegal; Cotonou, Benin, Windhoek, Namibia and Luanda, Angola. Air Highways to Africa Series Reflects Partnership with African Airlines Association Africa Travel's first Aviation, Transportation and Communications Edition will be distributed through a network of Canadian and US airports, plus ATA's regular channels. The Air Highways concept was pioneered by Editor Jerry W. Bird in the early 1990s and this edition honors ATA's partnership with (AFRAA) the African Airlines Association.
