For full information visit www.nanaimoairport.com

The Nanaimo Airport, located centrally on scenic Vancouver Island, is a thriving and modern air transportation gateway that offers an extensive range of amenities to the travelling public and the aviation industry.

Location and Area Served

The Nanaimo Airport at Cassidy, located approximately 18 kilometers south of downtown Nanaimo, is the primary air transportation gateway for the central Vancouver Island area.

Destination Nanaimo

Nanaimo has one of the most beautiful harbourfronts on the West Coast. Explore the natural highlights and scenic beauty of our mountain and oceanside setting or some of the finer qualities of our urban amenities. Enjoy a taste of the refreshing and relaxed atmosphere that fuels the imagination and fires the spirit of our residents and tourists.

We have a vibrant social and cultural life in Nanaimo. We host an 800 seat Performing Arts Theatre in the downtown core, a large, inviting Regional Library, and we are known as the Island's "shopping mecca" since we offer not only name-brand stores but also one -of-a-kind art and clothing galleries, pottery and hand-made jewellery. Our central location makes Nanaimo the perfect home base for visits anywhere on the island. In driving distances, we are 90 minutes North of the capital city of Victoria, three hours from Tofino, and 45 minutes south of Parksville.

Nestled between the ocean and the mountains, Nanaimo offers residents and visitors a diverse range of recreational opportunities. Golfing, Swimming, Kayaking, Biking, Salt-water Diving, Walking, and Fishing are a few of the many outdoor activities that are available. We hope you have the opportunity to visit us and indulge in our unprecedented hospitality and fine "Island" living. In leaving, I hope you will take good memories, new friendships, and a desire to return to Nanaimo. "Nanaimo 2007 Visitor's Guide, Mayor Gary Korpan, City of Nanaimo."
