NEWS RELEASE

Worldwide Voice of BC Forest Industries Launched

VANCOUVER, BC, OCT. 27, 2001: BC Scene Magazine will publish six editions of "The Forestry Scene," in 2002, featuring the industry's profound impact on the provincial economy and its aggressive new role in the world's marketing arena, including a current trade mission to China. Each edition targets a key event, starting with Premier Gordon Campbell's recently announced BC Economic Summit and the BC Tourism Industry Conference in February. Advance copies of the Forestry Scene will reach delegates at the BC Truck Loggers 59th Annual Convention in January. A large, qualified distribution is assured through the BC Council of Forest Industries (COFI) and its member associations. COFI is providing a team of industry leaders and authorities on specific areas of forestry to work with BC Scene's editors.

Joseph C. Whitehead, BC Scene's Editorial Board Chairman, has been a forestry spokesman for decades, as (past) publisher of BC Lumberman and the Journal of Commerce. His many contributions to the construction world were recognized this spring by an Architects Association of British Columbia award. Whitehead and associates will target business leaders and government decision makers in North America and worldwide. BC Scene was launched in September 2001 at the Union of British Columbia Municipalities 98th Convention and Marketplace, where BC Scene journalists laid the groundwork for 2002 by conducting a week-long series of interviews. Those attending the UBCM event, represented all levels of government and every type of company or agency doing business in the province. The Forestry sector was the most widely represented.

"The Forestry Scene," a complete self cover magazine , is a key part of BC Scene's Editorial Package, along with "Air Highways," which has focused on Travel and Tourism since 1995. By featuring both "Forestry and Tourism," in its magazines, books and web site, BC Scene is addressing the Province's two largest money earners and employers.

Advertising Data and BC Scene's Editorial Menu can be downloaded from the BC Scene Web Site at ( http://www.bcscene.com ).
