CANADIANS CAN SAVE WITH THE "TRY TEMPE CARD"

Looking to save a little cash? It's easy with the Try Tempe Card, an innovative discount program that rewards some of Tempe's best customers: tourists. The Tempe Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is distributing 35,000 of the cards to Tempe visitors, as well as local groups such as the Arizona State University Alumni Association.

The Try Tempe Card is a booklet that lists money saving specials from participating businesses. The inside spread of the booklet, which contains a summary of discount offers, tears out to create a convenient card that can easily be tucked into a purse or wallet. Offers include 50% off of ticket prices for select shows at ASU's Gammage Auditorium, $5 off of a $20 purchase at UNO Chicago Bar and Grill, 2 for 1 round of mini-golf at Fiddlesticks Family Fun Park and discounts on room rates at a variety of Tempe hotels.

The Tempe CVB will allocate a unique version of the card to convention groups, sporting event participants and other visitors to Tempe as well. The offers are valid through April 30, 2004. Try Tempe Cards can be picked up at the Tempe CVB office: 51 W. Third St., Ste. 105 in Tempe.

"Tempe is especially popular with Canadians who take extended vacations during the winter time," says Chris Ryall, Manager-Canada, Arizona Office of Tourism. "The city offers more than 5,000 guestrooms, including a wide range of suite-style properties. During the winter months there are always plenty of exciting events and activities to keep visitors busy."

Travel to Tempe is quick and easy. Tempe is less than ten minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and offers easy freeway access. Special hotel rates are listed on <http://www.exploretempe.com>www.exploretempe.com under "Visitors to Tempe" and "Travel Specials." To learn more, call 480-894-8158 or 1-800-283-6734
