"Aerial Highways" Critical for poor
countries.
From Airline Industry. Without a
rational "Aerial Highways" system lifting
tourists in and flying goods and services
out to global markets, the world's poorer
countries will be "sentenced to abject
poverty," said the head of a development
agency. Speaking this week to European
aviation chiefs assembled in Oslo, Lelei
LeLaulu, president of Counterpart
International, observed terrestrial
highways, roads and bridges are recognized
as essential components of infrastructure
responsible for turning new frontiers into
thriving communities as goods and
commodities were transported to markets.

Hot Springs and Freezing
Glaciers.
"The eternal ice fields wear a necklace of
thermal springs, fed from water trapped in
fissures and caverns deep in the roots of
the Rockies. Raging rivers, glutted by the
seasonal runoff, churn and boil like some
concoction from a giant soda fountain."

History:
The
first hotels in my memory were in my home
town, Dawson City of Klondike fame. Most
were remaining relics of Gold Rush days.
Ornamental pressed tin adorned the inner
walls
and lined the ceilings, corrugated tin,
patched with flattened aviation gas cans
was the popular roofing material, and the
facade was usually a false front.
